Dr Amanda Roxburgh — Clinical Psychologist

Amanda is a highly skilled and qualified clinical psychologist from the University of NSW. She is registered with the NSW Psychologists Registration Board and is a Full Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) and the Australian College of Clinical Psychologists (CCLIN). 

Amanda has provided individual and group-based treatments to adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment disorders. Amanda has also worked with street-based sex workers investigating mental health, trauma and substance use issues.

In conjunction with her clinical work in private practice, having completed her PhD in 2019, Amanda is a Senior Research Fellow with the Burnet Institute. She has presented at national and international conferences and is widely published in international journals, focusing on substance use issues.

Amanda's specialist interests lies in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, with a particular emphasis on anxiety, depression, substance use problems and self esteem issues. She primarily provides individual therapy for adults.

Amanda understands that individuals require different things from counseling and she tailors her work accordingly. She is committed to providing a non-judgmental, empathic, collaborative and safe environment for her clients, to assist them in exploring and resolving the issues they face in their daily lives. Her goal as a psychologist is to assist clients in developing the skills to overcome challenges and make positive change in their lives. 

Amanda’s treatment approach incorporates evidence-based practice and includes cognitive and behavioural therapy, schema framework therapy, somatic therapy, mindfulness and interpersonal therapy.
